CWA - Avaya Bargaining Report
Wednesday, 17 May 2006

May 16, 2006

Both Union's met this morning to build proposals for presentation that address job security concerns. This is not yet a completed task and will be presented to the company at a later date upon completion.

At 4:00 pm we met in formal session. The company presented a counter to the Union's rejection on Academic Awards. Their counter was worse than their first proposal. That is all the company had for today. The Unions passed a joint Pension Proposal that is a responsible adjustment to the present plan and would put us in line with other industry leaders that Avaya desperately seeks to be compared to. Our proposal is in direct contrast to the insult passed by Avaya during the opening of negotiations. After discussion the session ended.

CWA bargaining team members met in sub-committee to discuss Articles 9 Grievance Procedure, 16 Transfers & 24 Force Adjustment. Special City Allowance and Sub-Contracting Structure and Committee language was also visited in the sub-committee. No agreements were reached today on any subjects

We are scheduled to meet again at 10:30 am tomorrow.

Eleven more days!!!!

In Unity,

CWA-Avaya Bargaining Team
