AT&T announced another lay-off involving 158 of our Union brothers and sisters across the nation. The total amount of Members in Local 3250 are 18 and they are all located in Georgia. The Company is offering a VTP in all affected titles which may relieve the forced lay off.
The following are the business units, GCA, title, and numbers announced for this current lay off and VTP. Business Unit – Customer Services Senior Operations Clerk, GCA 328 Rockdale – Surplus 1, VTP 5 Reports Clerk, GCA 324, Alpharetta – Surplus 10, VTP 10 CSSS, GCA 332, Atlanta – Surplus 4, VTP 4 Business Unit – Corporate Affairs Reports Clerk, GCA 323 Atlanta – Surplus 1, VTP 1 Business Unit – Consumer Services Senior Data Processing Clerk, GCA 323 Atlanta – Surplus 2, VTP 2 There are no other titles being surplused or VTP being offered in Local 3250’s jurisdiction in Tennessee, Florida, North and South Carolina. It is unfortunate that AT&T has not accepted the Union’s proposal for planned forced adjustments by eliminating the contractor workforce and halting the Company's off-shore outsourcing. We will be supporting our affected brothers and sisters with financial counciling, the Alliance, and the AT&T Resource Center.
