We have some good news to report in our Local. AT&T will be floating two regular full time jobs that will be permanent for the title of Network Technical Specialist, which are covered by Article 43, in the Jacksonville, Florida GCA. The hiring will be advertised in ATS and will give preference to surplus and recall candidates. You heard right, the Company has finally decided to staff positions the correct way and will be using ATS and recall utilizing seniority to fill these full time permanent positions.
We would like to commend the management in the Jacksonville, Florida GCA including supervisor Jackie Isbell for choosing the fair and just way to fill these positions using ATS and recall. We find this to be a positive sign from the company and hope that this will encourage other AT&T management teams throughout our Local to staff positions by giving our laid off members an opportunity to return to permanent full time employment in seniority order. This method of staffing jobs will meet our Union’s criteria for a fair and just process for the rehiring of our laid off brothers and sisters in all titles. We will keep you informed when these jobs are posted and of any new job prospects that we hear of in the future. |
