The Union recommends that you sign nothing except your paycheck. If you have any doubts about signing a document, ask your manager "Is this a condition of employment?" If you are told it is, then sign the required document and contact your union Area Vice President at once to determine if the Company is engaging in an unjust or arbitrary practice.
Contrary to what you may have been be advised, especially from AT&T, you do not have to and should not sign the following documents: · Code of Conduct · Yearly appraisals · Corporate Security or witness statement (from AT&T) · Policies regarding sexual harassment, violence in the workplace, EEOC, etc · Internet or other computer policies · Anything else not covered in this list, check with your Departmental Rep or Area Vice President to verify if the document is a "condition of employment." · Note: If you initial a document it is treated the same as if you signed.
Any of these documents can and will be used against you in disciplinary matters that the Company may pursue regarding your employment. Again, avoid signing them. |
