AT&T announced a lay off which will affect 188 of our brothers and sisters across the nation. The total amount of members affected in our Local 3250 is 23 and they are all located in Georgia. The Company is offering a VTP in selected surplused titles, which may relieve some of the impact of this forced lay off.
The following are the business units, titles, GCA’s and surplus number announced by at&t for this current layoff and VTP in Local 3250. Business Unit – Business Customer Care Reports Clerk – Atlanta – GCA 323 – Surplus 2 – VTP 2 Service Order Adm. – Atlanta – GCA 323 – Surplus 2 – VTP 2 CSDG Assembler – Atlanta – GCA 323 – Surplus 4 – VTP 4 Senior Operation Clerk – Atlanta – GCA 323 – Surplus 1 – VTP 1 Communications Tech – Atlanta – GCA 323 – Surplus 4 – VTP 4 Business Unit – Corporate Affairs Special Reports Clerk – Atlanta – GCA 323 – Surplus 5 – VTP 5 Reports Clerk – Atlanta – GCA 323 – Surplus 3 – VTP 3 Reports Clerk – Alpharetta – GCA 324 – Surplus 2 – VTP 0 There are no other titles being surplused in Local 3250’s jurisdiction in Tennessee, Florida, North and South Carolina. It is unfortunate that at&t has not accepted the Union’s proposal to make planned force adjustments by using the contractor – workforce and halting their outsourcing. We will be supporting our affected brothers and sisters with financial counseling, the alliance and the at&t Resource Center.
