2/8/2006 Greetings:
We have been notified by Ingrid Orav of Lucent Workforce Relations that a problem has been discovered with the payroll processed for the current week (week 5) for employees who time report via the ISTAR system. Employees impacted by the issue will receive "40 hour default pay" and, if they receive more than $100 less than they should have based on their ISTAR timesheet, they will receive a supplemental pay check for this week. The correction will be reflected in next week's pay check for all employees.
The error resulted from the application of a correction file from UBS, the vendor for the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. The UBS correction file required the processing of revised W 2s and this file was run out of sequence with the current week's actual payroll production process.
This issue appears to be isolated to Installers, who are the primary users of the ISTAR time reporting system. All of the 105 impacted installers will receive a communication today, either personally or via their supervisor.
If we receive any more information, we will keep you informed.
In Unity,
Ralph V. Maly Jr. Vice President |
