Beware Of What You Sign
Tuesday, 11 March 2008

The company is increasingly using electronic coverage when introducing policy and procedural changes in the workplace. In the past, prior notice for work rule and policy changes were announced in group or individual coverage meetings. It was conducted this way to ensure all employees were covered and enabled our members to ask questions and obtain clarifications on the subject of change.

With the new electronic process that employees are being instructed to go to for coverage, the company has conveniently forgot to add a page at the end of their new policy or procedure that states the employee does not agree with or understand the policy.

In the future, if you are directed to electronic coverage of a policy change, you need to carefully consider the ramifications of your decision. If you click acknowledge, it means that you have completely read, understand and accept responsibility for the material.

Don’t sign what you may not understand whether it is in writing or it is an electronic entry.
