AT&T COLA Clarification-Addendum 4/2/08 |
|
Monday, 31 March 2008 |
CWA requested that AT&T send out a clarification notice to all Bargaining Unit Employees regarding the Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) eligibility. AT&T has sent out the following to all Bargaining Unit Employees:
Clarification: 2008 cost-of-living allowance for bargained employees To: Bargained-for employees and first level managers in company codes T8 and Y9 What: 2008 cost-of-living allowance for bargained employees Yesterday you received an email regarding a cost-of-living allowance (COLA). This COLA does not apply to bargained employees at Legacy AT&T or Legacy BellSouth. It applies only to bargained employees at Legacy SBC.
We apologize for any confusion the message may have caused. AT&T March 31, 2008-Original Posting The company put out a notice today in AT&T News, which has created a lot of confusion regarding a COLA (Cost Of Living Allowance) announcement. AT&T’s statement says: During 2004 bargaining, the unions and AT&T agreed to a cost-of-living allowance (COLA) formula. Based on that formula, this year's COLA has triggered an additional 1.47 percent increase over the scheduled 2.25 percent increase. This refers only to "Legacy S" employees whose General Wage increase is payable April 11th. It does not cover Legacy T employees or former Bell South employees. The Legacy T CWA/AT&T Corp 2005 contract does not include a Cost of Living Wage increase. We are working with AT&T Labor Relations to have the Company issue a formal correction to clarify covered bargaining unit members. This is a good time to start considering COLA as a bargaining demand for members that are covered by the Legacy T, CWA/AT&T Contract that expires on April 4, 2009.
