AT&T's Greed Abandons Workers & Community
Friday, 24 March 2006

AT&T’s plan to lay-off 250 workers at the Pittsburgh call center not only violates the agreements they made to CWA for support of the merger of SBC and AT&T, but also is a betrayal of promises they made to the community. The closure of this center will result in the abandonment of the hearing impaired in Pennsylvania by removing the services that they depended on in this state.

Please see attached in pdf a letter from Pennsylvania Governor Rendell to AT&T/SBC and the following note from Jim Short, Vice President District 13.

In Unity,
Ralph Maly, Vice President

I have attached a letter for PA Gov. Rendell about the office closing in Pa. that you will find interesting. This letter was again made possible by the work of the District and local staff and various other labor leaders.
